Splenic Marginal Zone Lymphoma

What is splenic marginal zone lymphoma?
-makes up <5% NHL
-lacks CD5 (unlike mantle cell, CLL/SLL)
-lacks CD103, CD25 (unlike hairy cell)
-Has other makers usch as CD19, 20, 22
-presents with SPLENOMEGALY, LYMPHOCYTOSIS, and other cytopenias (often d/t hypersplenism)
-NO B SYMTPOMS
-smear may show villous projections( but only if it is ina tube without anticoagulant)
-indolent course, survival>=10 years
-aggressive course predicted by hgn<12, elevated LDH, alb<3.5

Indications to treat:
-splenomegaly and (symptoms related to large spleen, OR cytopenias OR coexisting hep C)
