Familial Mediterranean Fever

Most commonly in persons of mediterranean descent; in the US ashkenazi jews are the most common
group to have FMF.  Defect is in the pyrin gene.  Notably, the major
complication of this disease is secondary amyloid deposition, which can
be curbed by use of cholchicine.
