a. Isolated causes, including:

--medications (ie. anithypertensive agents, tricyclic
antidepressants, dopamine agonists)
--normal aging/eldery
--Endocrine (adrenal insufficiency, pheochromocytoma)
--hypovolemia


b. CNS etiologies:

--Mutiple System Atrophy (ie. Shy-Drager syndrome)
--Demetia (Lewy body, vascular, Parkinson's etc.)
--MS
--ALS
--brain tumors
--tertiary syphylis


c. PNS etiologies:

--Diabetes
--Amyloidosis
--toxins/drugs (ie. etoh, vincristine, taxol, cisplatin, heavy
metals, organic solvents)
--porphyria
--paraneoplastic
--CIDP
--autoimune neuropathy (to the ganglionic acetylcholine
receptor

--infectious causes (Chagas, HIV, botulism etc.)
